Về hành vi chế diễu và xúc phạm niềm tin Kitô Giáo
trong Lễ Khai Mạc Olympic 2024.

Chúng tôi, những đoàn viên Phong Trào Giáo Dân Việt Nam Hải Ngoại cực lực lên án và phản đối Ban Tổ Chức Lễ Khai Mạc Olympic lần thứ 33 tại Paris, ngày 26 tháng 7 năm 2024, vì những sự việc sau đây:

1. Ban Tổ Chức đã dàn dựng màn trình diễn mô phỏng Bữa Tiệc Ly (The Last Supper) của Chúa Giêsu theo bức tranh của danh họa Leonardo da Vinci từ thế kỷ thứ 15, bằng những động tác khiêu dâm, thô tục do những người chuyển giới ăn mặc lõa lồ diễn xuất, ngụ ý chế diễu nhạo báng sự kiện thiêng liêng cao quí nhất của người Kitô Giáo, đó là Bí Tích Thánh Thể do Chúa Giêsu thiết lập trước khi Ngài bị nộp, bị giết và đã phục sinh.
2. Chúng tôi phản đối lời biện hộ mang tính kẻ cả, đầy ngụy biện của Bộ trưởng Nội Vụ Pháp Darmanin, cho rằng để bảo vệ giá trị “tự do” của nước Pháp, và rằng “Pháp là một nước của tự do, tự do về tình dục, tự do về tôn giáo, tự do chế giễu, tự do châm biếm”. Tự do không có nghĩa là được quyền làm tổn thương đến người khác, nhất là tổn thương đến niềm tin tôn giáo và đời sống tâm linh của hơn hai tỷ rưỡi tín đồ Kitô Giáo trên thế giới, mà chính tôn giáo ấy đã làm nên lịch sử văn hóa của nước Pháp.
3. Chúng tôi bác bỏ lời giải thích và biện hộ của giám đốc nghệ thuật, ông Thomas Jolly, khi ông phủ nhận tiết mục “Festivite” không lấy cảm hứng từ bức họa The Last Supper của Leonardo da Vinci. Thomas Jolly hãy so sánh cách sắp xếp diễn viên với bức họa một lần nữa đi. Ông đã khinh thường sự hiểu biết Thánh Kinh và nghệ thuật của người Kitô Giáo.
4. Thông diệp của màn trình diễn rõ ràng muốn hạ thấp con người xuống hàng cầm thú, kéo con người trở về thời bán khai hoang dã, thỏa mãn nhục dục theo bản năng thay vì lý trí và trách nhiệm của con người bình thường. Màn trình diễn đã xóa đi nét đẹp và nghệ thuật của nền văn minh, văn hóa nhân loại hôm nay; nó cũng phá hỏng toàn cảnh những sáng kiến nghệ thuật của Lễ Khai Mạc Olympic 2024.

Statement
Movement of the Vietnamese Laity in Diaspora

On the act of mocking and insulting the Christian faith
in the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

We, the members of the Movement of the Vietnamese Laity in Diaspora, strongly condemn and protest the Organizing Committee of the 33rd Olympic Opening Ceremony in Paris, on July 26, 2024, for the following incidents:

1. The Organizing Committee staged a performance simulating the Last Supper of Jesus according to the painting by the famous artist Leonardo da Vinci from the 15th century, with obscene and vulgar movements performed by transvestites dressed in nude, implying a mockery of the most sacred event of Christianity, which is the Sacrament of the Eucharist established by Jesus before He was betrayed, killed and resurrected.
2. We reject the condescending and fallacious defense of French Interior Minister Darmanin, who claims to defend the value of “freedom” in France, and that “France is a country of freedom, freedom of sex, freedom of religion, freedom of ridicule, freedom of satire”. Freedom does not mean the right to hurt others, especially the religious beliefs and spiritual lives of more than two and a half billion Christians in the world, which is the religion that has made the cultural history of France.
3. We reject the explanation and defense of the artistic director, Mr. Thomas Jolly, when he denied that the “Festivite” program was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s painting The Last Supper. Thomas Jolly, please compare the arrangement of the actors with the painting again. You have diminished the Christian understanding of the Bible and art.
4. The message of the performance clearly designed to degrade humans to the level of beasts, drag humans back to the primitive, savage period, satisfying their instinctive desires instead of the reason and responsibility of normal humans. The performance has erased the beauty and art of today’s human civilization and culture; it also ruined the whole picture of the artistic initiatives of the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

du Mouvement des Laïcs Vietnamiens de la Diaspora

Concernant les actes de moquerie et d’insulte aux croyances chrétiennes lors de la Cérémonie D’ouverture des Jeux Olympiques de 2024

Nous, membres du Mouvement des Laïcs Vietnamiens de la Diaspora, condamnons et nous opposons fermement à ceux qui ont organisé la Cérémonie d’Ouverture des 33e Jeux Olympiques à Paris, le 26 juillet 2024, pour les raisons suivantes :

1. Le comité d’Organisation a organisé un spectacle simulant la Cène du Dernier Repas de Jésus avec ses douze apôtres de Léonard de Vinci du XVe siècle, avec des mouvements obscènes et vulgaires exécutés par des personnes transgenres peu vêtues, impliquant une moquerie et un blasphème de l’événement le plus sacré et le plus noble pour les chrétiens, à savoir le Sacrement de l’Eucharistie établi par Jésus avant d’être livré, tué et ressuscité.
2. Nous nous opposons à l’excuse fallacieuse du Ministre Français de l’Intérieur Darmanin, affirmant qu’il s’agit de protéger la valeur de “liberté” en France, et que la France était “un pays de liberté, liberté sexuelle, liberté religieuse, liberté de se moquer, de caricaturer.” La liberté ne signifie pas le droit de blesser autrui, surtout de blesser la foi religieuse et la vie spirituelle de plus de deux milliards et demi de chrétiens dans le monde, dont la religion a façonné l’histoire culturelle de la France.
3. Nous réfutons l’explication et la défense du directeur artistique, M. Thomas Jolly, lorsqu’il a nié que le spectacle “festivités” ne soit pas inspiré du tableau La Cène de Léonard de Vinci. Thomas Jolly, comparez à nouveau la disposition des acteurs avec le tableau. Vous avez diminué la compréhension chrétienne de la Bible et de l’art.
4. Le message de la performance semble clairement vouloir abaisser l’humanité au rang de bête, ramener l’homme à une époque semi-sauvage, satisfaisant les désirs charnels par instinct plutôt que par la raison et la responsabilité d’un être humain normal. Cette performance a effacé la beauté et l’art de la civilisation, de la culture humaine d’aujourd’hui; elle a également ruiné l’ensemble des initiatives artistiques de la Cérémonie d’Ouverture des Jeux Olympiques 2024.
